Tuesday: Article Review (I will be in Sheridan with FFA for livestock judging)

Wednesday: Chapter 3: Conservation: Wise Use of Natural Resources. Read  and complete vocab

Thursday: Chapter 3: complete worksheet. Nonrenewable and renewable resources activity part 2.

Friday: Homecoming float preparation and parade

Monday: Chapter 1: Introduction to Forestry 

Tuesday: Article Review (I will be in Sheridan with FFA for livestock judging)

Week of 9/16/2013-9/19/2013

1st Period: Agriculture IV
  • Wildlife Conservationist Project
  • Students are researching and creating a presentation about a wildlife conservationist and will present it to the class 
  • NRS.01.01.01.c. Research and debate one or more current issues related to the conservation or preservation of natural resources.
  • NRS.02.05.01.a. Identify laws associated with natural resource systems.
2nd Period: Agriculture III
  • Montana State Trees Project
  • Students have chosen 4 trees that are popular in the state of Montana
  • They are researching and creating a presentation about each of the trees
  • Each student will present their PowerPoint to the class 
  • At the end of the presentations there will be a test over all 16 of the trees
  • NRS.01.02.01.a. Describe morphological characteristics used to identify trees and other woody plants
  • NRS.01.02.01.b. Identify trees and other woody plants
  • NRS.03.01.02.a. Describe uses of tree species
4th Period: Advanced Agriculture 
  • Students are working on individual projects in the shop
  • Putting a new engine in a car
  • Repairing a snow mobile engine
  • PST.03.01.01.c. : Performance test internal combustion engines to determine service and repair needs.
  • PST.03.01.02.b. Analyze and troubleshoot internal combustion engines.
5th Period: Agriculture I
  • Livestock Breeds Unit-students are researching and creating a presentation for 4 different livestock breeds
  • AS.01.01.01.a. : Identify the origin, significance, distribution and domestication of animal species.
6th Period: Agriculture II
  • Plant Cells
  • PS.01.02.01.a. Diagram a typical plant cell and identify plant cell organelles and their functions
7th Period: Introduction to Agriculture 
  • Montana County Agriculture Map Project
  • Students have chosen 5 counties in Montana and are researching the popular ag products in each county 
  • They will then create a map displaying the ag products as well as important stats 
  • CS.02.02.01.c. Engage in a project that educates others about different cultures from within the community.
